Do antibiotics affect how effective the pill is?
updated over 3 years ago

The only antibiotic that’s been shown to [lessen the effectiveness of the pill is rifampin] (http://bedsider.org/features/89), which is usuallly used to treat tuberculosis and not typically perscribed in the US. You should tell your doctor you’re on the pill when he or she perscribes you antibiotics so they can make the final call.
