Nope. In very rare cases, some women may get a blood clot while they are on the pill (but, the risk of getting a blood clot while on the pill is way lower than the risk of getting a clot while pregnant). And some women have medical problems that mean they shouldn’t use pills. But if you are healthy, birth control pills are actually very safe. In fact, they can help you with some problems now (like anemia from heavy periods) as well as later in life (they may protect you against some kinds of cancer).
