Telehealth can make your life so much easier

Luckily, the internet has made it possible to access a range of sexual health services online. Not only can you now get things like condoms and pregnancy tests online, saving you a trip to the pharmacy, you can also meet with health care providers online, get prescriptions, and have medication delivered to you. Here are some options you might want to check out if getting to the doctor is tough for you (or you just dread it).

How the Mirena IUD saved me from endometriosis

I have a chronic reproductive illness called endometriosis. It took years of bad experiences with my period and birth control to even find out I have endometriosis, much less get help for it, but the Mirena IUD finally gave me the relief that I needed from this horrific illness. While birth control didn’t literally save my life, it certainly saved my quality of life.

There are some differences among the five IUDs. The biggest is that the copper IUD (Paragard) is non-hormonal, while the other four (Mirena, LILETTA, Kyleena, and Skyla) contain a hormone called levonorgestrel, which is a type of progestin. While they all work very well to prevent pregnancy, the non-hormonal IUD can have different benefits and side effects than the hormonal IUDs, and the four hormonal IUDs have some differences among them as well. Which IUD is best for you depends on what’s most important to you.
