How long does the IUD last?
updated 8 days ago

It depends which kind you get. Skyla is approved for up to 3 years and Kyleena is approved for up to 5 years. Mirena is approved for up to 5 years and LILETTA is approved for up to 6 years, but in practice, both Mirena and LILETTA have been found to be effective for up to 7 years. The non-hormonal Paragard IUD is approved for up to 10 years but lasts for 12 to 20 years.
