Fitness for fooling around: Happy Baby Pose

Happy Baby Pose is a sweetly named, yet totally powerful yoga pose that lengthens and helps realign the spine, opens the hips, stretches the inner groin, and strengthens the arms and shoulders. It gets you ready for missionary and many other positions. And it’s a great stress reliever.

Happy Baby Pose

  1. Get your yoga mat ready.

  2. Lie down on your back and bend your knees towards your chest.

  3. Grasp your big toes or the outside of each foot—whichever is most comfortable—then allow your knees to drop down toward the floor. Try to keep your ankles and knees aligned so that your shins are perpendicular to the floor.

  4. Apply gentle pressure pulling down with your hands. This will help open your hips. If your tailbone comes slightly up off the floor, that’s okay. It’s protecting your lower back.

  5. Hold the pose for three to five minutes.

Bedsider

P.S. Not ready for a happy baby of your own just yet? Then make sure your birth control is covered.
