Fitness for fooling around: Goddess Pose

We think you’re a goddess all the time, but if you really want to embrace how divine you are, try this powerful yoga move. It’ll strengthen your lower body and open up the hips and chest, stimulate the reproductive organs, and improve your respiratory and cardiovascular systems. It’s good for balance too, and some say it helps with focus and concentration.

Goddess Pose

  1. Grab your yoga mat and place it on the floor.

  2. Place your feet about 3 to 4 feet apart with your toes turned out.

  3. Bend your knees while tucking in your tailbone and squeezing your thighs for stability. Your knees should be over your toes as you ease into this squat.

  4. Bring your palms together in prayer position with fingers pointing up towards the sky.

  5. Inhale and exhale 3 to 6 times before you release the pose.

Repeat 10 to 12 times, then finish with feet side by side and arms at your side.

XOXO,
Bedsider
