Is the birth control pill dangerous?

Nope. In very rare cases, some people may get a blood clot while they are on the pill (but, the risk of getting a blood clot while on the pill is way lower than the risk of getting a clot while pregnant). And some people have medical problems that mean they shouldn’t use certain types of pills. But for most people, birth control pills are actually very safe. In fact, they can help with things like acne, anemia from heavy periods, treating ovarian cysts, and help protect you from some kinds of cancer.
