Is it normal that I keep getting urinary tract infections from the diaphragm?
I keep getting urinary tract infections.
Some people do get urinary tract infections (UTIs) from using the diaphragm. It might help if you pee before inserting the diaphragm and after you have sex. You might also check with your health care provider to make sure your diaphragm fits correctly (depending on the brand there are a few sizes).
Still not working?
If you’re still having UTIs and want to switch birth control methods, you might want to consider a method you don’t have to insert yourself each time you have sex. You might try the ring, implant, patch, IUD, pill, or shot.
